A bit about Claudio
PHOTO-2018-10-22-11-42-40-1.jpg

Claudio Astuto is a London-based Ashtanga Yoga, Yoga for Sports, and movement teacher.

A former basketball player, Claudio turned to yoga to support his athletic training and rehabilitate a back injury. He teaches Ashtanga in a non-dogmatic, accessible way, adapting the practice to his students’ individual needs. His teaching is inspired by his own teacher, Hamish Hendry, with whom he has practised for over 10 years.

Claudio’s aim is to create an environment where everyone can explore and find their own relationship to the practice. With a background in biology and sports massage, he integrates anatomy knowledge into his classes, making them safe, biomechanically relevant and functional.

As an advanced freediver, Claudio places particular emphasis on breathing practices that help balance the nervous system. He is a BTEC Level 5 Remedial Sports Masseur (since 2014) and a Cranio Sacral Therapist. He specialises in injury rehabilitation and conditioning.

A bit about Candy

Candy is a london based yoga teacher, and runs retreats and teacher trainings in and out of the uk. Her journey began as striving to find inner calm from the harsh realities of anxitey and stress, and the health problem that arise from that. The space to move in a way that is nonjudgmental, uncompetitive, and to focus on breathing was the begining of self aceptance and way to calm the busy mind. This is her inspiration as a teacher. She has a dedicated ashtanga practice with her teacher Hamish Hendry, and has studied over 500hours in vinyasa yoga with many incredible teachers. She is a certified oxygen advantage Breath Coach, which she brings into her yoga classes, runs specific workshops, and works one on one with clients. In 2019 she trained in cranial sacral therapy, offered a deeper understanding of the nervious system and subtle energies of the human body. As a new mother, she has particular interest, and insight into the benifits if yoga & breathwork for all women in terms of hormone regulation, and how huge this can be in bringing ease to your cycle, or durning pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She also works as a doula, and is a big believer in empowered births for all mothers. Candy and claudio have been working both individually and alongside each other since they met in 2016, running retreats and teacher trainings. They decided to name it, and set up BreathMoves as a simple way for their students to stay connected and have access to their workshops and classes
